Interactive Learning Program ( ILP )

60 minutes, Interactive learning program, (ILP) instead of a 40 minutes conventional period, forms the bedrock of the learning experience at SelaQui. A typical class is divided in five learning groups of five students each with each student being assigned a specific responsibility on a rotational basis, thus giving every student an opportunity to participate fully in the learning process. The learning groups prepare lesson presentation under the supervision of the subject teacher. Students are encouraged to work with every other student in the class thus ensuring that they contribute in building the lessons & learning in ILP.

Reflection & Planning

At the conclusion of ILPs, the learning groups meet for 30 minutes under the supervision and guidance of a faculty member for a RaP (Reflection and Planning) session where they reflect on their own learning and performance during the day and plan their effort for the following day. Students find it exciting. It enthuses & empowers the students and enhances commitment to their own learning goals.

The school firmly believes that no real learning takes place unless the learner desires to learn. The teacher thus starts the lesson plan by first establishing, the need to know and concludes by demonstrating its application to their immediate environs.

SelaQui provides well equipped laboratories for sciences. Most learning units are supported by laboratory and experimental learning.

Collaborative project work is encouraged at the conclusion of learning units. That is an opportunity for the students to apply, test and internalize their classroom learning. Due weightage is assigned to the project work in their annual assessment.

Every Child Meritorious

Is the firm belief at SelaQui. The school curriculum is thus designed to help the student explore and exploit this merit to its potential. Student Achievement & Autonomy are therefore the cornerstones of the SelaQui effort. It is the constant effort of the school to 'track' each child's progress from the day he or she joins the school both in terms of potential and actual achievement. This will ensure that each child achieves his or her potential in every relevant area of growth and development; scholastic, sports, arts or any other activity
